About This Test
HIV Ag/Ab 1&2 is a blood screening test that checks for laboratory markers of HIV-1 and HIV-2 infection. It is used to help detect HIV infection and is interpreted by a clinician based on timing of potential exposure, symptoms (if any), and overall risk. If a screening result is reactive, confirmatory testing and appropriate clinical follow-up are needed before any diagnosis is made.

- Processing time 2-3 days.
- HIV testing is available by doctor’s request only. Your doctor or another HIV proficient counselor will provide pre-test counseling after ordering the test. For privacy and safety, HIV results are not released by email directly to the patient. Results are released with post-test counseling only via your ordering physician or HIV proficient counselor. You must consent to results sharing with your ordering doctor or your HIV proficient counselor for post-test counseling.
