About This Package
Prenatal Screening Basic is a foundational set of tests commonly requested early in pregnancy to support safe prenatal care. It checks your blood count and platelet level to screen for anemia and other blood changes that can affect pregnancy and delivery. Urinalysis helps detect possible urinary infection and provides a baseline for kidney and urine findings. It also screens for hepatitis B and syphilis, which are important infections to identify early in pregnancy for timely management and to help protect the baby. Fasting blood sugar is included to screen for early glucose problems that may affect pregnancy. Blood typing is included to document your ABO and Rh status for pregnancy planning and delivery preparedness.

Patient Preparation
Fasting for 8–10 hours before the test, water only

Screening for elevated blood sugar early in pregnancy.

How OGTT (3-Point) Works
This test checks how your body handles sugar during pregnancy and helps screen for gestational diabetes. Our licensed medical technologist will visit you in the morning while fasting. First, we take a fasting blood sample (0 minute). You then drink a measured sweet glucose drink (a standard amount of sugar; 75 grams), and we take two more blood samples at 1 hour and 2 hours later to see how quickly your blood sugar rises and returns toward normal. Please stay at home and avoid food, coffee, smoking, and exercise during the test (water is allowed). Our medic will visit you after 1 and 2 hours respectively for samples collection.
